CALL FOR NOMINATIONS: 10TH RESEARCH AWARDS – VIRA 2024
File Number: RA24/SN10/AAP–IV Board Meeting resolution: VIF/MIN/BM–I/2024 dated 19 February 2024 Ref: Call for Nominations F. No. VIF/CFN/RA/2024 opened on 18 March 2024 The VIRA 2024 is conducted in accordance with the VIF Board Meeting resolution held at VIF Head Quarters.
The process for VIRA commences with the release of “Call for Nominations” from Researchers working at Institutions of Academic, Industrial, Government, or Private with a recognized qualification.
CATEGORIES AND CRITERIA
Young Researcher
- Each year since 2020, this award is conferred for a remarkable Researcher for the contribution to New Theories, or Insights on the discipline.
- The nominee must be above 27 years of age and at least have 5 years of service as on 30 November 2024.
Outstanding Researcher
- Each year since 2020, this award is conferred for a remarkable Researcher for the exceptional contribution to Fundamental Discoveries, New Theories, or Insights.
- The nominee must be above 34 years of age and at least have 10 years of service as on 30 November 2024.
Distinguished Researcher
- Each year since 2020, this award is conferred for a remarkable Researcher for the exceptional contribution to Fundamental Discoveries, New Theories, or Insights have had an Impact on the discipline
- The nominee must be above 44 years of age and at least have 20 years of service as on 30 November 2024.
Distinguished Award
Award for Excellence
- Each year since 2020, this award is conferred for a remarkable Researcher for the meritorious efforts or exceptional contributions like groundbreaking investigation or empirical research that advances practices, or generates new knowledge, fundamental discoveries, new theories, creative activity or insights have had an impact on their own discipline and beyond and cutting-edge achievements.
- The nominee must be above 55 years of age and at least have 25 years of service as on 30 November 2024. .
- The VIRA 2024 judging is a peer review process.
- The merits (accuracy, eligibility, structure, presentation, use of language and clarity) of each entry will be checked in a fair, thorough, impartial and robust process.
- The panel (from diverse backgrounds, working individually) will ensure every entry meets the set category criteria, and if applicable, re-allocate into the correct category.
- The panel will use discretion if an individual is nominated for two concurrent awards and will move the nomination to appropriate category.
- The panel is instructed to score entries from 0 to 100, using the criteria. The panel decision is final and binding.
- The panel will select 3 nominees for each category/discipline (Eg. Outstanding Researcher – Engineering) .
- However the Apex Committee reserve the rights to honour less or more than 3 nominees in any category who meet standards set.
