The VIRA 2019 is convened by the CARD of VIF & conducted in accordance with the VIF BOARD MEETING resolution vide F.No.VIF/MIN/BM-I/2019 held on January 3, 2019 at VIF Head Quarters invites nominations from eligible individuals those are in 'Continuous Regular Service in Research or Academic Institution' in the age group of 27-65 years and working on the discipline of Agricultural Sciences, Engineering, Health and Medical Sciences, Humanities and Social Sciences, Science, Management and Veterinary and Animal Sciences.

Award Categories and Criteria
Young Scientist Award

This award is established in 2015 for the contribution to the Fundamental Discoveries, New Theories, or Insights have had an Impact on their own discipline and beyond.

  • Contribution: Exceptional research record of significant contribution to the laboratory/institute/industry. The qualification of the nominee must be recognized and documented by corresponding successes in research, such as Collaboration with Industries/Institutions, Contracts, Grants and Publications (Articles and Books)
  • Eligibility: A working professional can nominate an 'Eligible Individual' (or Self Nominate) for the VIRA 2019. He/She must be under 35 years of age as on June 30, 2018
Outstanding Scientist Award

This award is established in 2015 for the contribution to the Fundamental Discoveries, New Theories, or Insights have had an Impact on their own discipline and beyond.

  • Contribution : Exceptional research record of significant contribution to the laboratory/institute/industry. The qualification of the nominee must be recognized and documented by corresponding successes in research, such as Grants, Patents, Collaboration with Industries/Institutions, Contracts and Publications (Articles and Books)
  • Eligibility : A working professional can nominate an 'Eligible Individual' (or Self Nominate) for the VIRA 2019. He/She must be under 45 years of age as on June 30, 2018
Distinguished Scientist Award

This award is established in 2015 for the contribution to the Fundamental Discoveries, New Theories, or Insights have had an Impact on their own discipline and beyond.

  • Contribution: Exceptional research record of significant contribution to the laboratory/institute/industry. The qualification of the nominee must be recognized and documented by corresponding successes in research, such as Grants, Patents, Collaboration with Industries/Institutions, Contracts, Publications (Articles and Books), Special Awards and other specific accomplishments
  • Eligibility: A working professional can nominate an 'Eligible Individual' (or Self Nominate) for the VIRA 2019. He/She must be under 55 years of age as on June 30, 2018
Distinguished Award
Lifetime Achievement Award

This award is established in 2015 for the contribution to the Fundamental Discoveries, New Theories, or Insights have had an Impact on their own discipline and beyond and cutting-edge achievements.

  • Contribution: Exceptional research record of significant contribution to the laboratory/institute/industry. The qualification of the nominee must be recognized and documented by corresponding successes in research, such as Grants, Patents, Collaboration with Industries/Institutions, Contracts, Publications (Articles and Books), Special Awards and other specific accomplishments
  • Eligibility: A working professional can nominate an 'Eligible Individual' (or Self Nominate) for the VIRA 2019. He/She must be above 55 years of age as on June 30, 2018
  • Award: Certificate and Memento. It's a Non-financial Award.
  • For each discipline/subdivision (Eg. Distinguished Scientist - Engineering/Electrical Engineering), the expert committee will select 2 Nominees. However the Apex Committee reserve the rights to honor less or more than 2 nominees in any category who meet standards set by the expert committee.
